Be Reading (home of the Free Reading Program) Past Pres. Etobicoke Rotary Club

Literacy is key to a child’s success.  The Free Reading Program is a largely Rotarian-driven initiative with over 300,000 students online or in classrooms using it.  Hugh Williams joined Rotary in 2004 and is a Paul Harris fellow and past President of the Rotary Club of Etobicoke. He has enjoyed a successful career in the provincial government, in small business, and now as a writer, producer and marketing consultant. Hugh has also been a board member and executive with several charitable organizations that work with children and youth. He became an instant "fan" of the Free Reading Program at a Rotary District Conference presentation three years ago and is now a Board member of "Be Reading", the Canadian non-profit working to promote literacy and establish the program within Canada and around the world - because "literacy lasts a lifetime".
