Rotary Youth Leadership Award
Each year, thousands of young people take part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program worldwide. Young people chosen for their leadership potential attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice. Rotary clubs and districts select participants and facilitate the event's curriculum. The District 7040 2012 RYLA program will be held in Kingston, Ontario at the Donald Gordon Conference Centre from May 31st through June 3rd, 2012. Participants must be between 17 and 23 years of age. There is a limit of 20 participants and the deadline for registration is the 28th of February 2012.
PARTICIPANTS
Interested in participating in RYLA? The program requires selflessness, self-awareness and previously exhibited leadership qualities. In order to benefit from the lectures, activities and tasks of the program, you must be able to communicate effectively and to work well with other young men and women. RYLA requires that you find a Rotary Club that is willing to sponsor you. The sponsoring club will pay the $925 enrolment fee which covers 7 meals and your accommodation at the Donald Gordon Conference Centre. SPONSORING CLUBS
Interested in sponsoring a RYLA student? You may submit as many applications as you wish. The candidates should be selected on the basis of character, general education, leadership qualities, and a record of service to the community. Fill out the form below and email, mail or fax it to the RYLA Committee. The cost for sponsorship is $925. The enrolment fee covers 7 meals and the student’s accommodation at the Donald Gordon Conference Centre. Payment must be made by cheque before a student is considered enrolled.
